A Year of Change . . .

2007 was a year of surprises.
The year took on a life of its own, for me and for my art.
I didn't end up creating much art, actually . . . but what I had the opportunity to create,
was truly a thing of worth.  To make a long story short - I decided to invent and organize a Paint Out for Norfolk.  I took it on as a "committee of ONE" - and "just got busy".  To be a success - It had to be GREAT!  It had to be WELL-PUBLICIZED.  It had to ENTICE MANY PEOPLE WHO ORDINARILY DID NOT ATTEND ART EVENTS to show up and buy!  I wanted it to PROVIDE ARTISTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXHIBIT THEIR WORK TO A LARGE AUDIENCE OF EAGER BUYERS, AND TO GET A GOOD PRICE FOR THEIR WORK.  Above all . . . I wanted to create an event that created EXCITEMENT about ART.
In between planning this event and other things for the benefit of ART & ARTISTS . . .
I did manage to paint some new pieces which rely heavily on my greatest love in art - drawing.
The pieces I've been concentrating on are painted on linen, and exhibit alot of line and broad areas of color.
I am trying to simplify, simplify, simplify.
More about my madness and methods, later.
Here is an example of the new work.
Thanks for "stopping by".
